Sophia Westrop portfolio - Project page

I knew immediately what I wanted my site to be about, it was the perfect opportunity to do something special with my figure collection! I called the site pvcjunkie because figures are made out of PVC plastic and played off one of my favourite Vocaloid songs, Party Junkie. I built a photo box for this project and found some actually really great ring lights at the dollar store! I got different coloured bristol board and various craft papers for different backgrounds, fake flowers and other things to use as props, and used parchment paper to diffuse the light.

Sadly, two of my very close family members passed away during first term, one right before the FIP was due. I had to travel and fly out for final goodbyes and funerals. It was an extremely difficult time, but I was so blessed to have the kindest, most supportive, and most understanding professors ever. I was given an extra month to complete this project, so I was sure to give it my all despite my grief. The work for the project itself went smoothly, it was unfortunately just a rough time in my personal life. But such is life, and we must persevere!

Overall, I am really happy with how this project turned out and I got a fantastic grade on it. I had so much fun taking photos of my figure collection and setting up scenes for them, and I think the photos turned out great. I feel like in terms of my skill at the time with HTML and CSS, I was able to really push myself and explore things we hadn't learned and got good results.
